Job Summary:

The Guest and Employee Welfare Manager will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all guests and employees within the Peninsula Hot Springs. This includes conducting workplace inspections, coordinating Health and Safety Committee meetings, overseeing incident reporting, managing WorkCover programs, and assisting with the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries. This role is a full time, 6 month contract role

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to conduct workplace assessments
  • Experience in incident reporting and emergency response
  • Knowledge of injury management processes

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct workplace inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Coordinate monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary regulatory requirements and legislation
  • Oversee incident reporting process and inform key stakeholders of emergency incidents
  • Maintain a register of accidents and injuries, providing analysis to PHS Board and Health & Safety Committee on a monthly basis
  • Assist with WorkCover programs including return to work initiatives and rehabilitation support for injured workers
  • Management of Beakon, updating of policies and procedures as required, and ensuring compliance for all employees and other relevant parties.
  • Coaching department managers/supervisors in maintenance and monitoring of safe work practices and WH&S risks in the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred
  • Certification in Workplace Health & Safety would be an advantage
  • Previous experience managing WorkCover, return to work, and risk management functions in a dynamic and customer-centric organisation.
  • Previous experience in driving a best practice safety culture targeting all levels of safety and legislative compliance.
  • Previous experience in managing and leading teams
