Job Description

We have multiple casual opportunities for a Child and Youth Community Wellbeing Hub Workers to join our Youth and Middle Years Services team located in the heart of Prahran.

Acting in the best interest of the child or young person, you will assist in ensuring the consistent provision of recreational after school and Saturday programs to enhance the psychosocial wellbeing of children aged 5 - 12 years old on the Horace Petty and surrounding Office of Housing Estates. Working with other Hub staff you will facilitate engaging programs and formulate, implement and evaluate strategies and procedures for behaviour modification, conflict resolution and personal growth that are responsive to the individual needs of children and young people.

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Availability for a range of afternoon shifts, including Saturdays 
  • A tertiary qualification in a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in program planning, facilitation and evaluation for children aged 5 - 12 years old  
  • Skills and experience working in trauma informed practice frameworks
  • Skills in working with and engaging children, young people and families, in particular those from non-English speaking and low socioeconomic backgrounds.
