About the role:

The Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor supports the Library's organisational objectives and legislative responsibilities and is the first point of contact for health, safety and wellbeing matters. The role provides advice and facilitates the Library's injury management and return to work program, and has a key liaison role across the Library, as well as with insurance agents, health professionals and other relevant stakeholders.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor is accountable for the following measurable outcomes:

  • Providing advice and support to managers and staff on health, safety and wellbeing matters, in line with Library policy and relevant legislation.
  • Promoting a safe workplace culture through generalist safety responsibilities, including hazard management, risk management and incident investigation and reporting, and training.
  • Managing early intervention and resolution of employee health, safety and wellbeing issues.
  • Delivering timely and effective management of WorkCover claims and non-compensable RTW as required.
  • Supporting policy development and continuous improvement of health, safety and wellbeing processes and systems.
