Health Advisor 

About the role

Working in the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) team within People and Culture, this role provides case management and health & wellbeing support to all levels of leadership and to our employees across Victoria, to prevent and address issues of physical and mental health impacting our people. This role reports to and is supported by the WorkSafe Health Manager.

Utilising your workplace and health knowledge and experience, you will work within a Health Advisory team to develop and implement targeted, early intervention workplace health and wellbeing support for individual employees and collaborate with others to support teams at WorkSafe.

Acknowledging WorkSafe's responsibilities and position as a regulator in the Victorian Community, this position will help drive workplace health improvement whilst supporting broader WorkSafe initiatives in occupational health, safety and wellbeing.

 Key Accountabilities include;

  • Case Management - Develop, implement and promote quality health support and Workplace Wellbeing Plans to meet the needs of individual employees across the business whilst supporting both the employee and their manager
  • Deliver advice and educational support to Senior Leaders and People Leaders to ensure quality health supports (including workplace adjustments) to people with consideration of operational needs
  • Contribute to key HSW initiatives i.e. workplace mental health initiatives
  • Working closely with HSW team members to promote workplace health and safety management initiatives
  • Ensure strong financial management and accountability of all programmes within area of responsibility, as well as providing inputs for monthly reporting
  • Maintain external relationships with service providers, ensuring formalised working relationships are adhered to in accordance with policy and formal agreements

About you

We are looking for a qualified Allied Health professional, with relevant workplace health experience. We can also be flexible in considering a request for a job share arrangement between colleagues - where you may also have other ongoing professional commitments in place.

You will possess the following skills & experience:

  • Case management expertise, counselling and/or RTW coordination experience with a workplace health and work ability support focus
  • Mediation and or conflict management qualifications would be an advantage but not essential
  • Experience in employer based workplace health management
  • Understanding of both physical and mental health issues related to work and the initiatives required to prevent and manage  these, from an employer based perspective
  • Strong team based, multidisciplinary approach to occupational and workplace health support
  • Knowledge of or experience working with budgets would be an advantage
  • Superior relationship building and stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Willingness to travel to our regional and CBD locations where required
