About the role

Purple House has an exciting new opportunity for a WHS Coordinator within the People & Culture Team. 

The WHS Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the provision of a healthy and safe workplace and culture by coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of Risk and WHS frameworks in accordance with strategic and regional plans, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation. The role is also responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of programs to support policy implementation, education, and proactively encouraging organisational leaders to eliminate or mitigate risks within a risk management framework.

About you

  • You have a well-developed understanding of the practical application WHS regulatory compliance.
  • You are familiar with Workers Compensation and Return to Work legislation.
  • You are an excellent communicator, able to translate jargon to simple language and bring people along on the journey.
  • You are a self-starter and can work autonomously, knowing when to ask for help and able to collaborate within a diverse team.
  • You are eager to learn and equally share experience and knowledge.
  • You are well organised and know how to effectively manage your workload.
  • You are known for your compassion, empathy, and ability to listen.
  • You are culturally curious and have respect for culture and community.

What we offer

  • Salary package (depending on individual circumstances)
    • Up to $15,899 per FBT year
    • Up to $2,650 on Meal, entertainment, and holiday accommodation card per FBT year.
    • Additional items covered under Salary Packaging by Community Business Bureau (CBB) such as power or mortgage.
  • Above Award wages.
  • Ceremonial Leave (up to 10 days).

Applicants are required to have:

  • Qualifications in WHS (minimum Cert IV WHS) or similar field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Recent (less than 6 month old) National Criminal History check.
  • …or obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  • Covid Vaccination (2 jabs + 1 booster).
  • Unrestricted driver license – able to drive in the NT.
