WorkCover Tasmania has launched a new series of information sheets designed to assist employers and employees better manage workplace injuries and their return to work plans.

The information sheets:

  • look at the types of plans, when the plans are required and the type of information that is typically included in the plans
  • clarify the legislative obligations for these plans
  • help achieve a consistent and agreed understanding of how the two types of plans differ, and how best to apply them.

Return to work plans and injury management plans are inherently linked, and this has implications for the way the plans should be applied. The information sheets clarify these implications by:

  • identifying best practice approaches to managing workplace injuries
  • encouraging those involved in managing workplace injuries to look beyond simply meeting their legal obligations.
