Minister for women, Katy Gallagher, says the government faces challenges in implementing the Jenkins report.

Speaking at a Women for Election Australia webinar, Gallagher revealed that there are two significant areas that still need attention: the establishment of the Parliamentary Workplace Support Service (PWSS) and the rollout of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Commission (IPSC).

The IPSC is set to play a crucial role as a complaint, investigation, and enforcement body, dealing with allegations of politicians' misconduct.

Gallagher acknowledged the difficulty in legislating and enforcing rules for politicians, given that they have been elected by the people of Australia.

To keep track of the progress in implementing the recommendations, Gallagher pointed to an implementation tracker (PDF) on the Parliament's website.

The most recent update from June 27 revealed that the IPSC is on track to be established this year, pending the passage of necessary legislation.
