Businesses can now meet with a WorkCover NSW inspector after hours to get a run-down on staying safe in the workplace.

A free after hours safety program is being launched by WorkCover NSW for small businesses in the months of July and August. Businesses can sign up to meet with a WorkCover inspector after hours and be given practical work health and safety advice.

WorkCover NSW Regional South Team Manager Billy McColl has invited all small businesses to get on board, saying “small businesses can be time and resource poor, making prioritising safety a challenge...The Small Business Assistance After-Hours Program gives Illawarra businesses the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a WorkCover inspector... meetings are held at WorkCover’s Wollongong Office, giving local business owners and workers the opportunity to get away from workplace distractions and focus on how they can make their business safer.”

Meetings can also be arranged to take place on an actual work site, for the provision of more practical advice.

Meetings are available in July and August from 4.30pm to 5.30pm at WorkCover’s Wollongong offices. Bookings can be made at the WorkCover NSW website or by calling WorkCover NSW.
