The opportunity


ActewAGL’s Safety, Risk and Compliance Branch is seeking a Health & Wellbeing Advisor to join our dedicated team of health & safety professionals. Our team partners and works collaboratively with the business to drive and support employee centred programs designed to improve, maintain or restore the health and wellbeing of employees across all divisions including enabling areas to provide a safer and healthier workplace.

This is a highly rewarding role with an opportunity to manage our injury cases through our workers compensation, income protection and early intervention programs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your strong collaboration, customer-centric and problem-solving skills.

About your new role

You will partner with Evoenergy to:

  • Develop, implement and monitor return to work programs for work-related and non-work-related injuries in accordance with relevant organisational policies and procedures.
  • Implement health and safety initiatives with a focus on employee health and wellbeing, injury prevention and return to work.
  • Conduct regular case reviews with relevant parties and utilise best-practice techniques to identify and address barriers to recovery in a timely manner and to maintain engagement with the return-to-work process.
  • Provide technical rehabilitation guidance and advice on, ACT Workers Compensation Act 1951 and Group personal accident and illness polices to ensure injury management processes are monitored and implemented correctly.
  • Other duties can include monitoring the service levels of our EAP program and other Insurance providers, managing Evoenergy’s health monitoring program and preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders.

What will you bring

Essential:

  • Completion of RTW Coordinator (ACT) course or ability to complete
  • Demonstrated sound injury management skills and a proven effectiveness to secure positive outcomes in complex Workers’ Compensation and Income Protection related matters
  • Experience in managing injury claims, case management and application of risk management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, negotiate and persuade
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise work in a timely and efficient manner

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety, rehabilitation or allied health
