Reporting to the National WHS Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for leading and implementing WHS improvement strategies and key programs across the business and providing expert advice.

What does this role involve?

  • Leading the implementation of WHS Management systems, policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practise in OHS Management.
  • Identify WHS training requirements and implement suitable programs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Assisting Venue Managers and relevant stakeholders in the identification, assessment and control of hazards and risks with a focus on eliminating potential hazard exposure
  • Assisting Venue Managers and relevant stakeholders with incident investigations and the development of subsequent corrective actions
  • Fostering a collaborative relationship with external stakeholders including Worksafe and Union personnel
  • Developing and reviewing reporting on WHS as required by Australian Venue Co. and the National WHS Manager
  • Analyse WHS data to produce business recommendations
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to relevant Managers

What skills and experience are we looking for?

  • Proven experience working in multidisciplinary WHS teams, with a focus on commercial business partnering
  • Exposure to interpretation of WHS legislation with effective implementation of strategies within a multi-site environment
  • Analytical skills to develop and present relevant WHS statistical data and reports to stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of applicable Acts, regulations, policy and principles of work health and safety and injury management and accredited systems (e.g. relevant WHS Laws, AS/NZS 4801 or ISO 45001)
  • Ability to identify organisational priorities, plan and implement awareness programs, contribute to the development of relevant training programs, and provide expert advice to the business
  • Strong time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships
  • Strong desire to achieve and exceed results and goals
  • High level attention to detail
