Safety Manager 

European Train Control System (ETCS) 

As part of Cross River Rail, a new world class ‘ETCS’ signaling system that relays continuous information between the train and central Rail Management Centre via a radio system, trackside technology and onboard equipment will be delivered by a collaboration between Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, Queensland Rail, and Hitachi. 

About the role 

Our Safety Manager is tasked with facilitating health and safety compliance and engagement across the ETCS collaboration. This includes developing and establishing frameworks, policies, and procedures that: 

  • meet work, health, and safety requirements, and
  • meet crisis, business continuity, and security requirements, and
  • complies with applicable rail and infrastructure statutory requirements.

Our Safety Manager will act as the SME for all safety related topics for the collaboration management team and will spearhead the ‘safety first’ culture of the collaboration. 

About the applicant 

You will have extensive expertise in WHS compliance, and experience embedding policies, processes, principles, and practices in a multidisciplinary and complex environment. Skills in engaging with various stakeholders is key, plus exposure to developing WHS management plans and embedding ‘safety first’ cultures.
