WHS/HR Coordinator

 

This role is responsible for partnering with the business to provide support, coordination and administration across a range of WHS and HR activities to support the Far North Avocado and Banana operations. This role works very closely with the broader WHS and HR team.

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate the implementation of group WHS/HR strategies, policies, processes, programs, systems and training
  • Develop, guide and coach managers and supervisors to ensure a high level of WHS/HR support is provided to the business
  • Support managers in monitoring, analysing and investigation of incidents and near misses and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Develop and maintain safe work procedures
  • Manage early intervention injury management  and return to work programs
  • Manage workcover claims
  • Maintain and monitor Safety Management System information
  • Support managers with recruitment, onboarding and induction
  • Support managers across Employee Relations
  • Coordinate payroll processes

To be successful, you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years WHS & HR experience
  • Ability to drive a strong safety culture across the organisation
  • Ability to coach and support line managers in the handling of day to day WHS/HR issues
  • Knowledge of WHS legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of workers compensation and RTW
  • Knowledge of the Modern Awards and Australian Employment Legislation
  • Ability to engage & influence operational stakeholders & managers across all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to work in an environment that requires a high level of discretion, sensitivity and interpersonal interaction
