We now have a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced and qualified Chief HSE&Q Officer to join our team and to lead an ambitious change management program.  We are AS4801, ISO9001 and AS14001 accredited and these accreditations must be maintained whilst you lead the business to achieving a functionally effective Integrated Management System and Behavioural Safety culture.

A critical responsibility of the Chief HSE&Q Officer is the development, implementation and continued sustainability of the HSE&Q Integrated Management Plan (IMP) as the foundation to achieving our objective of building a sustainable Safety Culture. The IMP is developed in consultation with the HSE&Q Advisors and with the collaboration and support of General Managers. A primary objective of the plan is to achieve a total comprehensive and sustained change in safety behaviour that ensures ‘Everyone Goes Home Safe Every Day’. The implementation of the plan will involve the input and full support of the Executive Team which includes the CEO, COO, CHRO, and CFO. The Chief HSE&Q Officer provides advice and technical support on all aspects associated with the mitigation and elimination of risks that have the potential to cause harm to Active Group team members, sub-contractors, client relationships, assets, facilities, operations and activities. Risk minimisation will be achieved by ensuring the effective and sustained implementation of the HSE&Q IMP. The Chief HSE&Q Officer and your team will pursue continuous improvement outcomes and lead projects that achieve better Group results.

It’s expected that the successful applicant will have a proven track record in the development and successful implementation of an HSE&Q Integrated Management Plan. Your experience will most likely include working in diverse environments which includes country, regional, and urban. You’ll be able to demonstrate how your plan achieved a positive sustainable change in Safety Behaviour at every level of a large and complex business structure. You’re most likely post graduate qualified in Safety Behavioural or Occupational Health Sciences or similar as well as holding relevant qualifications in both quality management and environmental management systems.

A track record in successful claims and injury management will be considered favourably.

The Chief HSE&Q Officer reports to the CEO and is respected as a critically important leader in the business. The role carries with it the authority to get things done and to take Active’s safety performance from good to great!
