Your next career defining role:

This is genuinely an excellent 13 month parental leave opportunity that will not only offer you the chance to lead and work with a great team and great people, but will also offer you variety and fun challenges to sink your teeth into.

Reporting to the General Manager of Human Resources, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Safety and Wellbeing across the Australian and New Zealand Networks. Your focus will be to promote a positive health and safety culture through developing and maintaining a safety management system and strong stakeholder management to identify and educate on health and safety risks.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the strategic direction and continuous improvement of Health and Safety.
  • Delivering an exceptional level of Safety and Wellbeing service to 169 retail stores, distribution centres and support offices.
  • Assist key stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies, plans and control measures for the management of health and safety risks.
  • Manage the creation and implementation of safety and wellbeing strategies/ projects, policies/procedures and initiatives.
  • Reporting, including evaluation, analysis and benchmarking of performance indicators.

You will have demonstrated successful experience & knowledge in:

  • Demonstrated confidence and ability in managing safety at an operational level covering a range of matters including; incident management including investigation and reporting; hazard identification and management to legislative requirements; Injury management.
  • Interpreting and advising on Australian and New Zealand legislation.
  • Strong investigation and reporting skills.
  • Experience in the end to end management of WorkCover Claims, non-work related injury/illness matters and public liability claims.
  • Experience in managing New Zealand ACC Claims is desirable but not necessary.

  • You will have an innovative and proactive approach to safety and wellbeing.
  • You will have fantastic people skills and love to develop, maintain and foster strong relationships and partnerships with your key stakeholders.
  • Have the proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing (retail) work environment.
  • You are responsive, dynamic and aim to push boundaries.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in Workplace Health and Safety.
  • Qualified Return to Work Coordinator.
  • Retail experience is desirable but not essential.
