About this opportunity

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to join our People & Development team at the Sussan Group.

Reporting directly to the Group People & Development Manager, you will be responsible for providing support and advice to our National/Regional Sales Managers, Business Managers, Store teams, and Head Office team members in relation to the effective management of claims and injuries. You will also be responsible for maintaining high OH&S standards to minimise team member injuries and claims.

Based in our Head Office in Cremorne (VIC), this is a National role supporting our teams across Sussan, Sportsgirl, and Suzanne Grae. Experience managing injury claims both in-house and through an agency would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all team member injuries, return to work programs, and Workcover claims
  • Liaising with injured team members, managers, and treating doctors to formulate a suitable duties list and return to work schedule
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with insurers in each state
  • Minimising Workers Compensation premium impact and preparing remuneration and claims details for annual premium calculation
  • Ensuring compliance with OH&S legislation

The successful candidate must have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Degree/Diploma/Cert in OH&S/Injury Management or similar)
  • Experience managing claims and the return to work of injured team members
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret workers compensation and other relevant legislation
  • The ability to remain confidential & ethical in all actions Empathy when managing sensitive matters
  • Strong influencing and conflict resolution skills
