 About the role

Wingecarribee Shire Council is looking for two highly motivated, hands-on and skilled Reticualtion Operators - Water.

The primary purpose of this position is carry out assigned operational work including inspections, maintenance, repair, renewal and construction of water reticulation assets under the instruction of a Team Leader or Supervisor. Interaction with the public is a key focus of this role and the need for excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to representing Council in a positive and focussed manner.

The position may be required to participate in the Water and Sewer Branch On-Call Roster.

About you

In addition to relevant practical experience in construction, maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of water reticulation assets (or similar construction experience), the successful applicant will possess the ability to self-motivate, learn and proactively contribute to the team.

More specifically, responsibilities will include:

  • Operations of plant and equipment, providing manual labouring skills for the construction, maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of Councils water reticulation assets.

  • Contribute to the delivery of assigned programs of work within agreed timeframes, whilst achieving quality standards as directed.

  • Follow directions of the Team Leader in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards.

  • Carry out routine manual labouring tasks using approved equipment within Councils WHS procedures, SWMS, risk assessments and permits to work practices.
