The opportunity

Our Risk and Emergency Management Branch is looking for a flexible, motivated, analytical individual with a keen eye for detail to join our highly collaborative, dynamic and diverse group of professionals as our next Incident Response Coordinator.

Using your knowledge, expertise and excellent collaboration skills, you will have the lead or oversight of all Icon Water investigations and manage the coordination of all workplace incidents. You will also develop tools, resources and reports, foster positive work relationships and provide meaningful value add to our processes and practices.

A day in the life...

Using your expertise, you will:

  • Operate and continuously improve the investigation management framework, including activities relating to framework planning, support and performance evaluation.
  • Oversee workplace investigations, including the following incident types: safety, environmental, quality/process, fraud and unethical conduct and security.
  • Monitor investigation timeframes, reporting and corrective actions. 
  • Assist in the management of the protective security function.
  • Participate in assigned workplace investigations including through: development of terms of reference, briefing investigation team members, undertaking interviews, conducting root cause analysis, documenting findings and preparing reports. 
  • Provide advice to business units undertaking workplace incident analysis, including in relation to process, root cause and reporting. 
  • Manage a panel of investigations service providers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Develop and maintain systems and information. 
  • Analyse and extract data to prepare reports (including on investigation status) and analyse incident root causes. 
  • Contribute to the development and implementation the Branch business plan
  • Develop and deliver training and awareness on incident response activities (review, analysis, investigation).

To excel in this role, you will possess: (Selection Criteria)

  • Qualification in investigation or equivalent significant experience in conducting workplace investigations.
  • Knowledge of best practice investigations methodology and legislation applicable to the operation of a water and sewerage services provider. 
  • Significant experience in conducting workplace investigations, as well as experience in extracting and analysing data, building and maintaining relationships and using computer programs including Microsoft Office. 
  • Attributes including integrity, initiative and attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
