The Business Unit
The Health, Safety and Environment team is part of the Facilities Management Services Business Unit within the Operations Pillar. The team is responsible for the strategic planning and effective operational management with a purpose of mitigating risks, providing advice to our stakeholders and implementing proactive measures to contribute to a healthy, safe and secure environment for our staff, volunteers, contractors, hirers, visitors, members of public and patrons.
The Facilities Management Services business unit is comprised of the Health, Safety and Environment team, Security Services, Capital Works, Engineering Services and Maintenance Services.
The Role
This is a newly created role that presents a unique opportunity to work with key stakeholders to coordinate the high risk work practices review project within our venues. The primary purpose of this role is to effectively manage the objectives, timeframes and deliverables of the project. You will also be responsible for:
- Providing technical and functional health and safety support to key stakeholders involved in the project;
- Developing and implementing an action plan based on findings from the project;
- Contributing to identifying compliance requirements, improvements and solutions on health and safety matters;
- Assist with the development and review of documentation;
- Conducting and coordinating Workplace Inspections and Risk Assessments in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a high risk environment
- Tertiary qualifications with a minimum requirement of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- An understanding of workplace Health and Safety, including associated regulations and legislation
