Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner

Our client is looking for an experienced OHS advisor and a policy and procedure expert!

Your responsibilities:

• Provide input into the development, review, implementation and maintenance of health, safety and well being programs, policies, procedures, guides and practices aimed at cultivating an interdependent safety culture, assuring regulatory compliance, increasing organisational awareness and minimising exposure to workplace hazards and incidents.

• Prepare analysis of workforce reporting, such as hazard, near miss, and incident data for executive reporting, trend analysis and development of mitigation strategies.

• Advise and coach management and employees on health, safety and well being matters.

• Undertake corporate safety audits/inspections and conduct serious incident investigations using contemporary methodologies for Council operations on a regular and ongoing basis and recommend preventative measures. Ensure external contractor safety programs are in place and review as required.

• Coordinate the functioning of Council’s Health, Safety and Well being Consultative structures. Attend, actively participate and provide guidance in all relevant Safety Committee meetings as required. Provide relevant technical support, advice and education programs appropriate for Council’s broad range of employees, contractors and volunteers.

Your Skill-set:

• Demonstrated working knowledge of relevant Victorian OHS and injury rehabilitation legislation.

• Good understanding of health, safety and well being principles, systems and procedures, with a strong and current knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and regulations.

• WorkSafe approved 2 day Role of a Return to Work Coordinator training.

• Working knowledge of regulated occupational health and safety elements including, but not limited to: risk management, chemical management, occupational hygiene, manual handling, plant safety, fall protection, contractor and volunteer safety and emergency response.
