Our client is a well known company in the FMCG industry with a portfolio of reputable brands. They are currently navigating an exciting stage of growth with continued new business acquisitions.

Our client is currently seeking a Safety Manager to set the OH&S foundations for the newly acquired food manufacturing site in Pakenham. Ensuring they have the policies, management systems, processes and procedures to operate in full compliance with OH&S legislative and regulatory requirements

You will be joining a company who takes great care to ensure their employees align with their central values and are true leaders in their field with ambitious plans to continue on their journey of success.

Key work areas will include:

  • Management of OH&S requirements for newly acquired additional site
  • Continued development of the OH&S Management System at an operational level
  • Promoting health and safety and safe working practices
  • Assess, eliminate or control safety risks across the business
  • Ensure WH&S IT system is utilised to report incidents
  • Support all employees to implement WH&S initiatives
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with WH&S guidelines
  • Facilitate the development of risk management frameworks
  • Develop policies, procedures, guidelines and other strategies to support risk management
  • Provide employees with health and wellness awareness

Key requirements include:

  • Significant experience in the application of WH&S systems and policies in the food manufacturing industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in WH&S
  • Sound knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control principles
  • Demonstrate leadership in the development of best practice system
  • Strong understanding of state-based regulations and legislation
  • Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong business acumen and attention to detail
  • Team player with a positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to prioritise and collaborate with staff to deliver effective safety outcomes
