My client is Grammar school which history can be traced back to 1871. With over 2500 students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and 400 staff across campuses in Moonee Ponds, Essendon, Keilor East.


About the Role

This role reports to the Director of Human Resources Management. The incumbent must be able to establish and promote maintenance of safe & healthy working conditions -

Formulate and implement general safety, emergency controls and health policies

Conduct regular safety inspections to ensure compliance

Establish and deliver safety training to all employees

Provide adequate site leadership in relation to all issues pertaining to OH&S

Manage, maintain and review the processing of Worker's Compensation claims & RTW strategies

Develop site-specific OHS management plan - hazard reduction

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in this role you will have worked for at least 3 years in a similar OHS Coordinator position and hold a Diploma in OHS or Cert IV at minimum. You will have sound knowledge of OHS legislation in Victoria and gained experience working with a Safety Management System (SMS) and incident databases.

You will be a strong communicator and have the ability to analyse data, write detailed reports and prepare statistical dashboards with a high level of attention to detail. Ideally, you will have also gained a qualification or experience in auditing.

A strong team player, you will have an approachable manner and be responsive and adaptable to changing circumstances. In addition you will be able to prioritise and multi-task to deliver on deadlines.

Above all, you will have a passion for safety and be dedicated to promoting and facilitating a positive safety culture with a 'lead by example' approach.
