 Work Health & Safety Consultant

 

We have an opportunity for a Work Health & Safety (WHS) Consultant to join our Work Health & Safety Team based at Norwest. 

Reporting to the Head of WHS, you will be responsible for partnering with the SBA Leadership Team in driving a culture of safety as a priority at Site and delivery of the WHS Strategy. 

  • 12 Months Fixed Term contract
  • Part Time / 3 days per week / 22.8 hours

Tasks & responsibilities 

The position on a daily basis would be responsible for key tasks such as:

  • Support the business and all functions to ensure compliance with WHS legislation, drive engagement and delivery of the WHS Strategy
  • Provide risk management coaching, support and leadership to drive improved risk management practices across the business
  • Provide employees & WHS Committees with leadership and technical support to promote continuous improvement in safety culture and sustainability 
  • Champion and drive the cultural changes required to implement a successful behavioural safety programme
  • Develop and implement the WHS Management System within the business, including training, coaching, support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders to drive WHS consistency across the organisation and support a culture of behavioural safety awareness
  • Provide coaching and advice around key areas including WHS legislation, programs & initiative, policies, procedures, programs and matters relating employee’s to fitness for work
  • Engage and influence stakeholders to instigate and sustain a consistent culture of behavioural safety and living the company’s values.
  • Ensure compliance for WHS compliance (including but not limited to acts, regulations, code of practice, audits, and operating procedures)
  • Provide input and support to the Head of WHS in the development & execution of the WHS strategic plan

Qualifications & experience

  • WHS related degree or other relevant tertiary qualification
  • Experienced WHS professional with practical WHS hands on experience across the board range of WHS accountabilities and functions 
  • Experience in application of WHS in a FMCG environment or related industry
  • Superior communication and coaching skills
  • Ability and willingness to interact with people at all levels in a professional manner
