About the role

Reporting through to our National Safety and Health Manager, this is a unique opportunity to make an impact on our business through your ability to lead and enable our team in providing the best care and recovery options for our people. This will be achieved by implementing a proactive wellbeing strategy and continuously improving the injury management program. 

In addition, the Health and Wellbeing Manager will also support the wider team in developing, implementing and reviewing the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy. 

You will have a passion for understanding your stakeholders and a mastery in embedding yourself into their world as a trusted and collaborative partner. Your highly refined skills in partnering will position you perfectly to interface effectively with leaders and peers at all levels of our organisation.  

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Have end to end responsibility for Wellbeing and Injury Management programs
  • Partner with the wider team to develop, implement and review the Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy
  • Enable the provision of Real Care for our people by coaching our support and operational leaders to embed Real Care at all levels of the business
  • Act as subject matter expert for claims that are classified as serious/significant/complex and partner with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate our team members’ return to work
  • Complete ongoing review of injury trends and provide insight to team. 
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to legislative requirements for injury management and wellbeing
  • Oversee elements of the Safety and Health Management system related to Wellbeing and Injury Management
  • Partner with Ops, Support, EML and WOW Group functions to ensure we provide best practice RTW programs that reduce the human and financial impact of injury to our customers and team

About you:

A key leadership role, we’re looking for the following from the successful candidate

  • Qualifications in Return to Work 
  • Demonstrated experience in injury management, 
  • Proven experience managing complex cases and achieving results
  • Leadership and coaching experience and leading front line teams
  • Superior knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Experience in multi site operations is desirable 
  • General retail commercial awareness
  • Experience in governance activities
