- Initial 6-month contract
You will manage the WHS program and lead the development, implementation and management of WHS policies, programs and strategies to ensure a safety culture is developed and aligned with organisational direction, continual improvement and best practice in safety management.
The Role:
- Provide subject matter expertise in the interpretation of the WHS Act and WHS Regulations as it relates to the health & safety function
- Support the implementation of a new Safety Management System
- Coordinate and implement WHS training modules for staff and managers to promote safety best practice
- Coach the agency Executive and Management in good safety leadership practices
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to effectively implement and monitor WHS policies that comply with all legislative obligations
- Ensure that advanced workplace risk management analysis is undertaken and mitigation strategies developed to address identified gaps
- Coordinate and manage the health screening processes for staff
About you:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within workplace risk management, hazard identification or incident investigation
- WH&S qualifications at a tertiary standard
- Knowledge and experience in the interpretation and implementation of WHS related legislation
