Develop, drive, and deliver the safety, health & wellbeing roadmap for enabling the launch and ongoing operations of the WX automation site.

This role is key to preparing for the launch of our first large-scale WX automation site in Auburn and providing the ongoing support of this site, and the potential to further support the Melbourne automated CFC site launch and ongoing support. The role will be a sitting member of Auburn's leadership team/s, and form part of the WX SH&W team and part of the SH&W Woolworths Platform group.

What you'll do -

  • Deliver the SH&W plan for enabling the safe launch of Auburn CFC, and continuous improvement of systems, processes, tools, and site ownership of SH&W post-launch.
  • Develop specific elements of documented safety management system that relate to automation site SH&W risk profile either directly or through partnership with other key teams in SH&W and the business
  • Complete pre-launch and post-launch activities such as risk assessments, training, inspections, audits, checks, coaching
  • Work with operational and functional teams through to front-line teams to drive strong SH&W risk management and where needed improve SH&W performance for the successful and safe delivery of business objectives
  • Promote purposeful SH&W engagement and active leadership through providing the right guidance, coaching, and tools, along with being a "trusted advisor"
  • Support, coach and drive to ensure accountability and operational discipline for SH&W is done through the operational line, and not seen or delegated to "SH&W"
  • Enable insights about changing or emerging risks, facilitating action as required
  • Provide and maintain the components of Woolworths SH&W integrated management system that relate to the WX automation risk profile
  • Lead or oversee SH&W incident & emergency management, along with investigations into health & safety events
  • Ensure SH&W incidents, hazards, near misses are reported and manage in line with Woolworths requirements
  • Direct accountability for an end result but will need to work within a modern-day matrix without always direct control over the resources used to achieve the end result
  • Develop SH&W written reports
  • Being an agile organisation, the responsibilities will change &/or evolve to support the Woolworths Strategy

What you'll bring -

  • 5+ years of operational OH&S experience with experience in manufacturing, automation or similar risk profile
  • A bachelor degree safety management, engineering, or a relevant field
  • Experience with developing and executing transformation change management
  • Experiance in implementation of business critical controls
  • Projects within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deal with complex problems with high ambiguity where solutions are not defined
  • Good presentation skills (written and verbal) with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
