What you'll be doing

To provide strategic and operational support to the Senior Manager Workforce Health and Safety for District-wide safety initiatives and to ensure compliance with ISLHD’s Work Health and Safety Management System (SMS), including compliance with ISLHD WHS strategic direction and relevant statutory requirements.

This is a temporary full time leave relief position until 30 June 2022 with the possibility of extension.

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant qualifications in WHS (minimum Certificate IV in WHS) or equivalent experience and relevant skills and knowledge in Risk Management, along with demonstrated experience in the proactive application of risk management processes in the workplace.
  2. Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of the NSW Work Health and Safety legislation.
  3. Demonstrated experience in in conducting incident investigations and the collection and analysis of WHS performance data.
  4. Demonstrated ability to audit WHS systems or current accreditation as an auditor for the NSW Health WHS Audit tool or eligibility to apply for accreditation.
  5. Demonstrated ability to implement, manage and coordinate WHS activities/programs/processes and systems which have targeted objectives and positive cultural impact.
  6. Relevant experience and demonstrated ability in identifying training needs, and the development and delivery of training.
  7. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills including sound conflict resolution and negotiation skills, and time management project management/planning/administrative and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  8. Current, unrestricted Driver’s License.
