The role

At Coles our vision is to embed safety into our DNA and ensure that we all go home safe!  An exciting opportunity exists to join the Coles Group team as a Safety Systems and Analytics Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and deliver, timely and insightful reporting and analytics that enable the business delivery on its safety plan. As a self-insured business this role is also responsible to coordinate and maintain the Coles Group Safety Management System including;

  • maintaining and controlling Safety Management System documents across the Group and Brands including document control
  • publishing Safety Management System documents to ensure information is current and available to the business, and
  • partnering with the Brands to coordinate internal and external audit schedules in consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders

The successful candidate will have sound knowledge, skill and experience in data analysis, dashboard development, report presentation and document publishing and experience in maintaining safety management systems and audit documentation.

Based in our Tooronga Support Centre, this role reports to the Group Safety and Deliver Manager and has the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced operational environment. The successful candidate has the ability to develop strong and effective working relationships and communicate successfully and confidently at all levels.

A highly analytical role that also involves strategic thinking and process efficiency. If you are someone who is systematic in their thinking, analytical and is passionate about safety, this could be the role for you.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • qualifications or solid experience in data analytics, report development and safety insights
  • proven experience in maintaining safety management systems and audit documentation meeting self-insurance or quality management system requirements
  • proven experience in document design and publishing
  • exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and consistency of documentation and data
  • experience in a dynamic, fast paced operational environment, with competing priorities with experience in retailing and/or multi-site food manufacturing preferable
  • experience in developing effective working relationships and meeting stakeholder requirements through high levels of customer service
  • experience working with online safety systems to maintain high quality data.
  • advanced skills in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, outlook) SharePoint, Document Management System, Web and Adobe design computer software
