The position of Manager, Audit and Compliance forms a part of the Rail Safety branch of Transport Safety Victoria (TSV).
TSV is Victoria's integrated safety regulator for bus, maritime & rail transport. It is headed by the Director, Transport Safety whose statutory object is to independently seek the highest transport safety standards consistent with the transport system's vision & objectives under the Transport Integration Act 2010.
Transport Safety Victoria are seeking to employ a proven safety professional who has a strong desire to have a direct impact on improving safety within the rail industry in Victoria and nationally. The applicant should be self-motivated, determined, with a real passion in being able to identify areas of improvement in operators safety management systems, while being experienced and qualified in delivering education. Completion of the lead auditor certification is essential.
The position reports to the Director Rail Safety and is a member of the senior leadership team within the rail branch. The position has accountability for providing management and leadership to a small team of rail safety officers and is primarily responsible for managing the delivery of the rail compliance program. The position provides leadership and guidance in a complex area of strategic importance that has significant impact on the delivery of policy.
This position is required to work with high level stakeholders, senior staff from other rail safety regulators and provide policy advice to government and key industry stakeholders. The role also manages a multi-disciplinary team carrying out rail compliance and accreditation activities.
