Senior Communications Advisor 

About the role

As a Senior Communications Advisor you will work in partnership with WorkSafe’s business units and the Manager, Strategy Communications to develop and deliver engaging materials that translate and communicate objectives, projects and achievements to internal audiences.  This role is also responsible for:

  • Planning, developing and providing internal communications content, activities, advice and support in a range of formats, such as digital stories, videos, presentations and speech writing as required
  • Proactive and responsive strategic and tactical communications advice
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders

About you

Your communication skills and attention to detail are the key to your success in this role. You are a team orientated person who enjoys delivering, mentoring and making an impact with your team.  Ideally, you will have prior experience working in a complex organisation and will also possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing communications to support complex internal projects and the implementation of change
  • Proven ability to think strategically and synthesise material and issues to develop a clear narrative, key messages and persuasive presentations for senior executives
  • Strong written, communication skills and the ability to present issues or messages clearly, simply and effectively to a range of audiences
  • The ability to build effective working relationships, with highly developed influencing and negotiation skills
  • A strong ability to plan and manage workflow with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in a complex and fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications 

Tertiary qualification in PR, Communications, Journalism (or related field)
