Manager, Data Warehouse and Engineering 

 

About the role

The Data Warehouse & Engineering Manager role is a key leadership position in the Intelligence Management Function (IMF), a centralised data and analytics division within the Insights and Innovation Business Unit, supporting prevention-led and client-centric decision making throughout WorkSafe.

Some key accountabilities:

  • Effective and collaborative partnering with the broader IMF team and all business units to deliver and manage the implementation of data warehousing and engineering strategy, patterns and frameworks
  • Lead and develop a team of technical Data Engineers and Developers to drive appropriate data engineering and data warehousing standards
  • Contributing to strategies, plans, and specifications that support best practice in the delivery and ongoing operational support of data engineering and data warehousing assets
  • Responsible for creating and overseeing existing vendor contracts

About you

You are an experienced Leader with a commitment to learning and keeping pace with cutting edge data management knowledge, technology and practice in academia and industry.

More specifically you will have:

  • Experience in leadership and managing technical teams
  • Demonstrated high level proficiency to deliver tactical solutions to new projects and initiatives
  • Successfully managed Tier One vendors and working collaboratively with key client stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of data processing and data modelling patterns and solutions to support Data Warehousing, Big Data, Cloud, Business Intelligence, and Information Management capabilities  

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Actuarial or other technical field).
