Manager - Return to Work

 

  • $157,266.00 per annum + Superannuation
  • Full Time Permanent Position
  • Hybrid working model- Based in Geelong

About the role

The Manager, RTW position works within the Claims Division of the Return to Work Victoria Business Unit. Reporting directly to the Director - Claims and managing a specialist RTW team, this role is accountable for developing and managing key strategies and programs relating to return to work performance across the scheme, including the management of the Occupational Rehabilitation (OR) Provider Panel.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Management, oversight and delivery of key WorkSafe corporate and operational RTW metrics, including but not limited to Back at Work measures from 16-104 weeks.
  • Management and delivery of Tier 3 KPI’s and key programs including Mobile Case Management and Occupational Rehabilitation Performance, Secondary Mental Injury, Employer Performance and Recovery and RTW programs.
  • Accountability and oversight of the panel of Occupational Rehabilitation (OR) rehabilitation providers, ensuring delivery to the OR Conditions of Approval.
  • Setting annual performance measures for OR providers, implementing a Governance Framework of billing of incentives by the OR Provider Panel, developing and coordinating appropriate Business Plans and leading performance management discussions as appropriate.
  • Provision of subject matter expertise and leadership to the RTW Team, including setting the team strategic direction, establishment of priorities and ensuring delivery to required organisational outcomes.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, including ability to provide guidance and motivation to individuals and teams and encourage innovation, whilst maintaining appropriate oversight.
  • Proven ability to build, influence and sustain effective and constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovative and creative thinking, with ability to integrate different advice, ideas and concepts into practical business solutions and implement effective change.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data, using data to identify opportunities to improve organisational performance / mitigate risk.
  • Experience in implementing strategies / operational change to improve organisational performance.
  • Extensive operational claims management experience in achieving return to work outcomes in the personal injury industry.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to resolve complex problems and make challenging decisions that are likely to be contested and subject to scrutiny by key stakeholders
  • Emotional intelligence and cognisant of the broader implications of role decisions on injured worker outcomes, stakeholder perceptions and WorkSafe performance

Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in an Allied Health speciality or relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Business are desirable
