HSE Advisor - Powerlink Queensland - OHSCareer

First listed on: 29 June 2020

HSE Advisor

Temporary opportunity with a lasting impact. Coach and mentor leaders to drive safety objectives and safely deliver power to Queenslanders.
  • Brisbane-based role providing advice to construction projects within a high voltage environment
  • Industry leader for high voltage electricity transmission network services
  • Revitalise your career in a 6-month temporary role with a vibrant, driven and energetic team
About the role

Our HSE Advisor has accepted a temporary secondment internally, so we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE professional to join our brilliant HSE team for 6 months until 31st December 2020.

So what is different about an HSE Advisor role at Powerlink? Unlike other advisory roles, you won't be out on site all the time enforcing safe work practices or doing all of the "safety" work for the project. In our role, you will be coaching and mentoring leaders on HSE matters and providing advice for the application of HSE services so that they can deliver safety objectives across their construction projects. You will play a key role in developing and driving the Safe For Life culture that allows Powerlink and its employees to safely deliver power to more than 4 million Queenslanders.

You will advise on a broad range of areas, providing information and advice on best practice HSE management, as well as monitoring and reviewing responses to incidents, and undertaking further investigations or corrective actions where necessary.

About you

You will make an immediate impact in this role as you apply your previous experience in successfully partnering with business leaders to drive safety outcomes and apply your knowledge from operating in an HSE role within the construction industry or high voltage electrical environment.

You might already have ICAM Lead Investigator and/or Lead Auditor qualifications, which is ideal, but if you don't have those qualifications, a solid understanding of how incident investigations and audits are conducted would give you a strong base along with tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety and/or Environment or a similar discipline.

We'd love to hear from you and how you can help to further develop our safety-first culture. Apply now, attaching your resume and write us a cover letter about what you think you could achieve in this 6-month opportunity.

Applications close on Sunday, 12th July 2020 at 11:59pm.
