Principal Human Factors Advisor 

 

An exciting opportunity to lead and effectively manage internal consulting projects which require the professional expertise of Human Factors staff to meet business imperatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and maintain close strategic alliances with internal and external stakeholders critical to the successful implementation of the CRR/ETCS program of works.
  • Lead a complex and broad scope of work specialising in Human Factors interventions that consistently meet business needs, commercial imperatives and legislative requirements associated with the CRR/ETCS program of works.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary teams tasked with finding innovative and cost-effective Human Factor solutions to complex organisational problems.
  • Liaise with senior and middle managers to negotiate service agreements that support in the development and execution of business readiness (Human Factors) activities aligned the CRR/ETCS program of works.
  • Research and investigate best practice initiatives relevant to QLD Rails  present and future business requirements aligned the CRR/ETCS program of works.
  • Develop alliances with professional and academic institutions which are accessible to Queensland Rail for specialist expertise.

We are seeking applicants with relevant tertiary qualifications in human factors or psychology, the below qualifications are mandatory:

  • G Human Factors
  • HF & Ergonomics Society Australia HFESA

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of HF Rail Experience.

This role is suited to someone with strong interpersonal and communication skills coupled with the ability to influence stakeholders.  Skill in research design, statistical analysis and reporting will ensure your success in this role.  Prior experience in managing human factors projects within the rail industry  and human-system integration will also be highly regarded.

Requirements include:

  • High level of consulting, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills in the supply of customer focused Human Factors Services.
  • High level of skill to lead, manage, implement and evaluate CRR/ETCS Human Factors projects on behalf of Queensland Rail Major Projects Integration.
  • High level of research, analytical and evaluation skills for investigating Human Factor initiatives relevant to Queensland Rail end user needs and requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of contemporary Human Factor issues and their potential impact on Queensland Rail's business.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to commit to and work within Queensland Rail's Values and Behaviours.

Salary range: The starting salary for this role is approximately $116,000 + super + free rail travel to and from work. This salary is negotiable and will be commensurate to the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

In addition to a generous superannuation scheme, Queensland Rail also offers free train travel to and from work on duty days and a healthy work/ life balance.
