ACT Work Safety has announced the winners of its Healthier Work Day photo competition.

“As part of our celebrations during the inaugural Healthier Work Day, we invited Canberra workplaces to send in photos of the fun and creative ways they were having a healthier working day,” said ACT Work Safety commissioner Mark McCabe.

“I would like to congratulate Barmco Mana Partnership, Barton Private Hospital, Bond Hair Religion and Campbell High School on winning the major prizes, which are advertising placements of their photo on the back of ACTION buses.

“These workplaces were among many across Canberra who participated in the competition, while improving their health and wellbeing and having fun as well.

“It was fantastic to see the photos Healthier Work received. They showed great creativity and dedication to health and wellbeing in the workplace.”

Mr McCabe stressed the importance of promoting a healthy workplace.

“A healthy workplace is something everyone benefits from. Many safety outcomes flow on from an environment in which everyone is in good health and able to focus. It also means that workers are happier and more productive, and a business will naturally benefit from this in numerous ways.

“Healthier Work Day contributes to the goals of the ACT Government’s Healthy Weight Action Plan, which is about creating environments that make healthy lifestyle choices easier. I congratulate every workplace that participated in this year’s competition and encourage all workplaces in the ACT to find out the benefits that improving health and wellbeing can bring.”
