The NT Government has launched a six-month independent review of NT WorkSafe.

The review will seek ways to strengthen NT WorkSafe’s policies, procedures, and activities.

The independent reviewers will work with a Territory reference group made up of industry, union and government nominees.

A discussion paper is in the works that will provide opportunities for public feedback and input into the review.

Attorney General Natasha Fyles said it is important for the regulator to use the best possible operating model to protect Territory workers.

“This six-month review of NT Worksafe will look at the policies, procedures, and activities in place and consider how best practices can be implemented to support staff and stakeholders,” she said.

The reviewer is expected to report back to the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice by December this year.
