Authorities and academics are teaming up in NSW to improve work health and safety research expertise.

SafeWork NSW’s Centre for Work Health and Safety and the University of Newcastle have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that allows university students and academics to engage in real-world work health and safety research.

The university’s Professor Alan Broadfoot says the new Centre for Work Health and Safety will use data, research and insights to develop smarter, more innovative solutions to work health and safety challenges.

The Centre is actively seeking relationships with other universities across Australia that will provide work health and safety research opportunities, and recently signed an MOU with the University of Wollongong.
